Starting an online business often means paying for five different tools at the same time, before you have made a single sale.

You pay one company for your website, another for your email list, a third for your online course, a fourth for your checkout page, and sometimes a fifth just to make the other four talk to each other. Each monthly bill looks small on its own, but together they add up quickly, and every extra tool brings one more login to remember and one more place where something can quietly break.

Systeme.io promises to replace that whole collection with a single account, and it backs that promise with a free plan that never expires.

In this Systeme.io review, we opened a free account, walked through the main tools step by step, checked every price on the official pages, and read what thousands of real customers say, so you can decide whether Systeme.io is right for your business before you spend a cent.

Systeme.io Review: The Short Answer

Systeme.io is an all-in-one marketing platform that puts sales funnels, email marketing, online courses, a website, a blog, a checkout and simple automations together in one account (Systeme.io pricing).

Here's our quick verdict before we get into the details:

  • Best for: solo founders, coaches, course creators and small online businesses that want to sell online without paying for five separate tools.

  • Free plan: $0 forever with no credit card, including 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course and unlimited emails (Systeme.io pricing).

  • Paid plans: Startup costs $17 a month, Webinar costs $47 a month, and Unlimited costs $97 a month, while paying yearly gives you 2 months free.

  • Fees: Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, although your payment provider, such as Stripe or PayPal, still takes its own small cut.

  • Customer scores: Systeme.io holds 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot, 4.8 on G2 and 4.8 on Capterra, based on more than 11,000 reviews combined.

If you want one simple, affordable tool to build pages, send emails and sell a course or digital product, Systeme.io is one of the best deals available today. If you need premium designs, detailed reporting or advanced automation, however, you will probably outgrow it.

What Is Systeme.io?

Systeme.io is a web application that runs in your browser, so there's nothing to download or install on your computer.

A helpful way to picture it is as a shopping mall for your business. Instead of renting five small shops on five different streets, you rent one space where the shop window, the cash register, the mailing list and the classroom all sit under the same roof.

The company says it powers more than 500,000 entrepreneurs (Systeme.io), and its Trustpilot company profile lists its address in Dublin, Ireland (Trustpilot).

Here are the main parts of the platform, explained in plain English:

  • Sales funnel: a series of web pages that guides a visitor from "just looking" to "bought," much like a guided path through a shop that leads from the front window to the till.

  • Opt-in page: a page where a visitor gives you their email address, usually in exchange for something free such as a short guide or checklist.

  • Email marketing: sending newsletters and automatic email series to the people on your list.

  • Online courses: lessons, videos and quizzes that your students log in to watch at their own pace.

  • Website and blog: ordinary web pages and articles that live on your own web address.

  • Automation: rules that handle routine jobs for you, such as "when someone buys, send them a thank-you email."

  • Affiliate program: a system for paying other people a share of the sale when they send buyers your way.

Why it matters for a small business

Every tool you add is a bit like hiring a new staff member who doesn't speak to any of the others, which means someone has to keep passing notes between them.

When your pages, emails and checkout all live in one place, those notes pass themselves. A new buyer gets tagged, receives access to the course and gets the welcome email automatically, without you copying a single detail by hand.

Time is an even bigger reason this matters, as research shows. In a university survey of 263 small businesses published in the Journal of Extension, the most common reason owners gave for not doing more online selling was simply having "no time," followed by the cost (Gallardo and Jacobs, Journal of Extension). The same study found that younger and smaller businesses with a longer online presence tended to report higher revenues. A tool that is cheap and saves hours attacks both of those barriers at once.

If you're new to the idea, our guide to marketing automation for small business explains the basics in more depth.

Who Systeme.io Is For

Systeme.io is designed mainly for people who sell knowledge, services or digital products online.

It's a strong fit for:

  • Course creators who want a course, a sales page and an email list in one place instead of three.

  • Coaches and consultants who need a booking calendar, a landing page and follow-up emails that send themselves.

  • Bloggers and newsletter writers who want a free email tool that doesn't limit how many emails they send.

  • Small digital shops that sell ebooks, templates, printables or memberships.

  • Affiliate marketers who need simple landing pages and automatic email follow-ups.

It's a weaker fit for:

  • Large online stores that manage thousands of physical products and stock levels.

  • Agencies that need white-label software they can resell to clients under their own brand.

  • Sales teams that need detailed reports, call tracking and complex sales pipelines.

Systeme.io Pricing: Plans Explained (Verified November 3, 2026)

Systeme.io offers four public plans plus a custom Teams plan, and we checked all of them on the official pricing page on November 3, 2026.

Here are the current prices:

  • Free: $0 a month, forever, with no credit card required.

  • Startup: $17 a month, or $170 if you pay for a full year.

  • Webinar: $47 a month, or $470 if you pay for a full year.

  • Unlimited: $97 a month, or $970 if you pay for a full year.

  • Teams: a custom price that you arrange directly with Systeme.io's sales team.

Yearly billing gives you "2 months free," which is why each yearly price equals ten monthly payments. Yearly plans also include free migration, which means Systeme.io's team helps move your existing pages and content over from your old tools.

What every plan includes

Several important features come with every plan, including the free one. Every account gets 0% transaction fees, unlimited emails, unlimited file storage, unlimited sub-accounts and assistant accounts, and 24/7 email support (Systeme.io pricing).

The 0% fee matters more than it first appears. Some course platforms keep a percentage of every sale, but Systeme.io doesn't, so a $100 sale stays a $100 sale apart from whatever Stripe or PayPal charges to process the card.

Free plan: $0 forever

The free plan is the main reason most people try Systeme.io in the first place. It includes 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels with up to 15 steps, and unlimited emails and newsletters, along with 1 email campaign, which is an automatic series of emails.

You also get 1 automation rule and 1 workflow, 1 website and 1 blog, 1 course with up to 500 students, 1 community and 1 booking event. On top of that, the plan includes 1 custom domain, 1 tag, 1 sales pipeline, and one each of an A/B test, an upsell, an order bump and a coupon.

That's a remarkable amount for $0, and it works like a free trial that never runs out, as long as you stay inside the limits.

There is one cap you should know about, though. Systeme.io's terms state that free accounts can make up to USD 10,000 in total sales over the life of the account (Systeme.io terms), and after that you need a paid plan.

Startup plan: $17 a month

Startup is the natural next step for most growing businesses. It raises the limits to 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 10 automation rules, 5 workflows, 5 courses and 3 custom domains.

This is the plan to choose once you need more than one automation rule, because a single rule on the free plan runs out surprisingly quickly.

Webinar plan: $47 a month

The Webinar plan adds evergreen webinars to everything in Startup. An evergreen webinar is a recorded presentation that plays as if it were live, at a time each visitor chooses, a bit like a TV show that starts whenever a viewer sits down on the sofa.

It also raises the limits to 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 100 automation rules, 20 workflows, 10 evergreen webinars and 10 custom domains.

Unlimited plan: $97 a month

Unlimited removes the caps entirely, giving you unlimited contacts, funnels, courses, rules and domains, along with early access to new features.

It's also the only plan that currently includes Systeme.io's built-in AI Chat. The help center says AI Chat "is currently available only on the Unlimited plan" and will reach other plans in a future update (Systeme.io AI Chat guide).

What happens if you go over a limit

This rule catches many people by surprise, so read it carefully. According to Systeme.io's terms, if your usage goes over your plan's limits, you get 3 days to bring it back down, and after that your account is upgraded to the next plan automatically (Systeme.io terms).

So if you import 2,500 contacts into a free account, plan ahead by either cleaning the list or upgrading on purpose, rather than letting the upgrade happen to you.

Refunds and cancelling

Systeme.io's terms say that subscriptions are not refundable (Systeme.io terms), although the help center adds that refund requests are reviewed case by case (Systeme.io refunds).

To cancel, go to Settings, open Manage my subscriptions, click the three dots next to your plan, and choose Cancel subscription. The cancellation takes effect on your next payment date, and your account then returns to the free plan (Systeme.io cancel guide).

That's a fair arrangement overall, but it does mean you should test everything on the free plan first and only pay once you're confident the tool fits.

What Systeme.io costs in real life

Here are three simple examples based on the official prices:

  • A new coach with 800 email subscribers and one course fits comfortably inside the free plan, so the cost is $0.

  • A course creator with 4,000 subscribers and five automations needs Startup, which costs $17 a month or $170 a year.

  • A business running a recorded webinar to 9,000 subscribers needs the Webinar plan, which costs $47 a month or $470 a year.

The cost math: Systeme.io vs a stack of separate tools

To see the real savings, it helps to price out a typical setup. Imagine a coach with about 1,000 email subscribers who wants an email tool with automations, a sales funnel builder and an online course.

If she used separate tools at the prices we checked on November 3, 2026, Kit's Creator plan for 1,000 subscribers would cost $33 a month (Kit pricing). Adding ClickFunnels' Launch plan for her funnels would add $97 a month, or $81 a month on yearly billing (ClickFunnels pricing). That's about $130 a month on monthly billing, or more than $1,500 a year, before she pays for anything else.

If she chose Kajabi instead to cover courses, pages and email in one place, its Basic plan costs $1,716 a year when billed annually (Kajabi pricing).

On Systeme.io, the same coach could run her funnel, course and welcome email on the free plan for $0. Once she needs several automations, the Startup plan costs $170 a year, which is roughly a tenth of what Kajabi charges on yearly billing.

The other tools aren't bad value, because they offer more polish and features. However, for a small business that mainly needs the basics to work, the gap of more than $1,000 a year is hard to ignore.

Key Systeme.io Features Explained

Here's what each main tool does, how it works in practice, and how well it serves a small business.

Sales funnels

Funnels sit at the heart of Systeme.io, and the idea is simple: you pick a goal, and Systeme.io arranges the pages you need in the right order.

When you create a funnel, you choose one of four types: Build an Audience for collecting emails, Sell for selling a product, Custom for anything else, or Run an evergreen webinar, which requires the Webinar or Unlimited plan (Systeme.io funnel guide).

Each funnel is made of steps, such as an opt-in page, a thank-you page, an order form and an upsell page, and you can rearrange or add steps whenever your offer changes.

Drag-and-drop page editor

The page editor is built from three kinds of building blocks, which Systeme.io calls sections, rows and elements (Systeme.io editor guide).

Think of it like arranging a bookcase, where a section is a whole shelf, a row divides that shelf into spaces, and an element is the item you place in each space, such as a headline, an image, a video or a button.

One important detail is that the editor doesn't save your work automatically (Systeme.io editor guide), so you should click Save regularly to avoid losing changes.

Email marketing

Every Systeme.io plan includes unlimited emails, which is unusual at this price. You can send one-off newsletters to your whole list or to a tagged group, and you can set up campaigns, which are automatic email series.

A campaign works like a drip-feed watering system for your garden. Someone joins your list, receives the first email today, the second email three days later, and so on, without you ever pressing send.

Tags make your emails more personal and relevant. A tag is a simple label, such as "bought-course" or "interested-in-coaching," that you attach to a contact so you can send each group only the messages that fit them.

Online courses and communities

You can build courses with modules and lectures, release lessons gradually over time, and grant access automatically after someone pays. The free plan allows 1 course with up to 500 students, which is plenty for testing your first course idea.

You also get a community area, which works like a private forum where your members can ask questions and share their progress.

Automation rules and workflows

Every automation rule has two parts, a trigger and an action. The trigger is the event that starts things, and the action is what Systeme.io does in response.

It works like a motion-sensor light at your front door, where someone walking up is the trigger and the light switching on is the action.

Systeme.io's triggers include a funnel form being filled in, a new sale, a tag being added or removed, a course or lesson being completed, a booking being made, a sale being canceled and a page being visited. Its actions include adding or removing a tag, sending an email, enrolling someone in a course, revoking course access, unsubscribing a contact from a campaign, sending a webhook and sending an SMS (Systeme.io automation rules guide; Systeme.io AI Chat guide). A webhook, in simple terms, is an automatic message that one app sends to another app the moment something happens.

Workflows are longer chains that can include waiting periods and conditions. The free plan gives you 1 rule and 1 workflow, which is enough to learn how they work but not enough to run a busy business.

Checkout, upsells and order bumps

Systeme.io connects to Stripe and PayPal to take payments (Systeme.io PayPal guide), and it gives you two tools that can increase the value of each sale:

  • Order bump: a small add-on offered right on the checkout page, much like a cashier asking whether you'd like fries with your meal.

  • Upsell: a larger offer shown immediately after someone completes a purchase.

You can also create coupons and price plans, including one-time payments and subscriptions, so the same checkout can sell a $20 ebook or a $300 yearly membership.

Website, blog and booking calendar

You can build a basic website and blog on your own domain and let clients book calls through a built-in booking calendar. None of these tools are as advanced as dedicated website builders or scheduling apps, but they save you from paying for two more subscriptions.

Your own affiliate program

You can let other people promote your products in return for a commission, while Systeme.io tracks who sent each sale and how much each partner has earned.

AI Chat and the MCP server

Systeme.io's AI Chat can create funnels, pages, newsletters, courses, coupons and automation rules when you type a plain-language request (Systeme.io AI Chat guide). For example, you could type "Create a funnel named Summer campaign with an opt-in page," and it would build the funnel for you. It is only available on the Unlimited plan for now.

Systeme.io also offers an MCP server (Systeme.io MCP). MCP is a standard way to let outside AI assistants, such as ChatGPT or Claude, work inside your account, which is a bit like giving a helper a key to one room rather than the whole house.

How to Use Systeme.io: Step-by-Step Guide

This section walks you through setting up your first working funnel, from signing up to sending your first automatic email. The steps follow Systeme.io's own help center, and the screenshots come from our free account.

Step 1: Create your free account

Go to Systeme.io and click the free signup button, then enter your email address and choose a password. You won't be asked for a credit card.

Your account has two-factor authentication switched on by default. Two-factor authentication, often shortened to 2FA, means Systeme.io emails you a code each time you log in from a new device, which acts like a second lock on your front door (Systeme.io 2FA guide). We recommend leaving it on, because the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency says this extra step makes you far less likely to be hacked (CISA).

Step 2: Explore the dashboard

After you log in, you land on the dashboard, where the top menu holds the main areas: Contacts, Sites (for funnels, your website and your blog), Emails, Products, Automations and Sales.

Spend five minutes clicking through each menu before you build anything, in the same way you might open every cupboard in a new kitchen before you start cooking.

Step 3: Set up your sending domain

Before you can send emails, Systeme.io asks you to prove that you own the domain you're sending from. This process is called domain authentication, and it protects both you and your readers.

Think of it like signing a letter, where your signature shows the post office that the letter really came from you, which keeps it out of the junk pile.

Go to Settings, then Emails, then Domains, and add your domain (Systeme.io domain authentication guide). Systeme.io then gives you a few records to copy into your domain provider's settings, namely three CNAME records and one DMARC record.

Systeme.io email settings Domains section for adding and authenticating a sending domain
Systeme.io email settings Domains section for adding and authenticating a sending domain

The email domain settings in Systeme.io. Screenshot taken by Vivid Algo, November 3, 2026.

Here's what those records actually do:

  • DKIM adds a hidden digital signature to each email you send (RFC 6376).

  • SPF publishes a list of the servers that are allowed to send email for your domain (RFC 7208).

  • DMARC tells inboxes what to do with a message that fails those checks (RFC 7489).

You can't send from a free Gmail or Yahoo address, so you'll need an address on your own domain, such as you@yourbusiness.com. This matches what the big email providers now expect. Google's sender guidelines ask every sender to set up these checks, and anyone sending 5,000 or more messages a day must also offer one-click unsubscribe (Google email sender guidelines).

If editing these records feels intimidating, Systeme.io's support team will set them up for you free of charge (Systeme.io free DNS setup).

Step 4: Create your first funnel

Go to Sites, then Sales funnels, and click Create. Give the funnel a name, choose your domain and currency, and then pick a funnel type (Systeme.io funnel guide).

Step 5: Add and edit your pages

Inside the funnel, click + Add step to add a page, pick a template, and then click Edit to open the page editor.

Drag a headline, a short paragraph, an image and a sign-up form onto the page, and then change the words to match your free offer, such as "Get my free 7-day meal plan."

Remember to click Save before you leave the editor, since there's no automatic saving (Systeme.io editor guide).

Step 6: Send an automatic welcome email

Now it's time to make the funnel do some work for you. Open your opt-in page step, go to its Automation rules tab, and add an action that sends an email whenever someone signs up (Systeme.io opt-in email guide).

You can attach your free guide directly to this email, as long as the file is 5 MB or smaller.

Step 7: Build a broader automation rule

For rules that work across your whole account, go to Automations, then Rules, and click Create (Systeme.io automation rules guide).

  1. Choose a trigger, such as Funnel step form subscribed.

  2. Select which funnel and which step the rule should watch.

  3. Choose an action, such as Add tag or Send email.

  4. Click Save rule.

Setting up an automation rule with a trigger and an action. Screenshot taken by Vivid Algo, November 3, 2026.

Keep in mind that a single trigger can fire for the same contact up to 20 times, which protects your contacts from being stuck in a loop of repeated emails.

Step 8: Test your funnel

Open your opt-in page in a private browser window and sign up using a second email address that you own. Then check three things:

  • Did the new contact appear in Contacts?

  • Did the welcome email arrive in the main inbox rather than the spam folder?

  • Were the right tags added to the contact?

If all three checks pass, your funnel is ready for real visitors. It's the same idea as testing a new door lock by stepping outside and trying your key before you leave for the day.

Step 9: Add a product and a checkout (optional)

When you're ready to sell, create a Sell funnel, add an order form step, connect Stripe or PayPal, and set your price (Systeme.io order form guide).

If you have a second product, you can then add an order bump or an upsell, and the free plan allows one of each.

Step 10: Keep an eye on your plan limits

Check your usage every few weeks under Settings, then My plan, so nothing surprises you. If you're getting close to 2,000 contacts or need a second automation rule, decide whether to tidy up or upgrade, and keep the 3-day rule in mind before an automatic upgrade kicks in.

A Worked Example: A Complete Funnel for a Small Business

The steps above show you which buttons to press, but it's easier to see the value when you follow one business from start to finish. The business below is a made-up example, and every feature it uses is part of Systeme.io's plans as described on the official pricing page and in the help center.

Meet Amara, a yoga teacher who wants to sell a $29 beginner video course online while she keeps teaching her local classes.

Part 1: Collect emails with a free offer

Amara creates a Build an Audience funnel with two steps. The first step is an opt-in page offering a free PDF called "5 Morning Stretches for Stiff Backs," and the second is a thank-you page that tells visitors to check their inbox.

On the opt-in page's Automation rules tab, she adds two actions. The first sends the PDF by email, and the second adds the tag "lead-yoga" so she always knows where each contact came from.

Part 2: Warm up new subscribers with a short email series

Next, Amara creates one email campaign with four emails, sent over about a week. The first email welcomes the reader, the second shares a short tip, the third tells a student success story in her own words, and the fourth invites the reader to join the $29 course.

She then builds an automation rule with the trigger Tag added: lead-yoga and the action Subscribe to campaign, so everyone who downloads the PDF starts the series automatically.

Part 3: Sell the course with a simple checkout

Amara creates a Sell funnel with a sales page, an order form and a thank-you page. She connects Stripe, sets a one-time price of $29, and adds a $9 order bump for a printable practice calendar.

Part 4: Deliver the course and stop the sales emails

Finally, she sets up a rule with the trigger New sale and three actions: Enroll in course, Add tag: customer-yoga, and Unsubscribe from campaign. The last action matters more than it looks, because it stops the email series from asking a paying customer to buy something she has already bought.

What this costs Amara

This whole setup uses 2 funnels, 1 campaign, 1 course and a handful of automation actions. Because the free plan includes only 1 automation rule and 1 workflow, Amara would likely need the Startup plan once she adds the second and third rules, which costs $17 a month or $170 a year. On the free plan, she could still launch a simpler version that uses the opt-in page's own automation tab for the welcome email.

The result is a small business that collects leads, follows up, sells and delivers a course around the clock, while Amara spends her time teaching instead of copying email addresses into spreadsheets.

Support and Learning Curve

Systeme.io offers 24/7 email support on every plan, including the free one, and its pricing page says replies arrive in under 2 hours on average, 7 days a week (Systeme.io pricing).

The help center is large and well organized, and most articles show each click with a numbered screenshot. For quick "how do I" questions, there's also a built-in AI Assistant that points you to the right guide.

For basic tasks, the learning curve is gentle, and building a funnel feels a lot like filling in a form. The harder parts are domain setup and automation rules, which are also the topics that come up most often in customer complaints.

Plan to spend one afternoon getting your first funnel live, and allow a little longer if you've never edited domain records before.

Is Systeme.io Safe?

Systeme.io switches on two-factor authentication for every account by default (Systeme.io 2FA guide). That's a good sign, because many tools leave this protection off until you go looking for the setting.

Your own habits matter just as much as the platform's settings:

  • Use a long, unique password and keep 2FA switched on (CISA).

  • Give helpers their own assistant accounts instead of sharing your main login.

  • Follow the email laws that apply to you. In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act requires every marketing email to include a real postal address and a clear way to opt out. You must honor opt-out requests within 10 business days, and each email that breaks the rules can lead to penalties of up to $53,088 (FTC CAN-SPAM guide).

Systeme.io gives you the right tools, but using them properly is still your responsibility.

Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels vs Kajabi vs Kit

Here's how Systeme.io compares with three popular alternatives, using prices we checked on each official page on November 3, 2026.

Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is the best-known funnel builder on the market. Its Launch plan costs $97 a month, or $81 a month billed yearly, and includes 10,000 contacts and 50,000 emails a month (ClickFunnels pricing).

By comparison, Systeme.io's Webinar plan gives you the same 10,000 contacts with unlimited emails for $47 a month. ClickFunnels offers more polished templates and more built-in AI tools, while Systeme.io costs roughly half as much and adds a free plan.

Choose Systeme.io if price matters most to you, and choose ClickFunnels if you want a larger design library and live chat support on its higher plans.

Systeme.io vs Kajabi

Kajabi is a premium course platform whose Basic plan costs $143 a month billed yearly, or $1,716 a year, for 2,500 contacts (Kajabi pricing).

Kajabi feels more polished, especially for course pages and member areas, but Systeme.io handles the same core jobs for a small fraction of the cost.

Choose Systeme.io if you're just starting out, and choose Kajabi if your course business already earns well and you want a premium look.

Systeme.io vs Kit

Kit, formerly called ConvertKit, is an email tool built for creators. Its free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers, and its Creator plan starts at $33 a month for 1,000 subscribers (Kit pricing).

Kit is stronger if email and newsletters are all you need, while Systeme.io adds funnels, courses and a checkout on top of email.

Choose Systeme.io if you need more than email, and choose Kit if email is the core of your whole business.

How to read these scores

High scores are a good sign, but they deserve a careful reading. A review score is like a restaurant's star rating, because it tells you that most diners left happy without telling you whether the particular dish you want is any good.

Trustpilot notes that Systeme.io "hasn't invited customers recently," which means recent reviews arrived on their own rather than through company requests. Systeme.io has also replied to 89% of its negative Trustpilot reviews (Trustpilot).

The most useful habit is to read the 1-star and 2-star reviews, since they reveal the problems you're most likely to run into yourself.

Common themes in customer reviews

On G2, the most frequently mentioned pros are ease of use (139 mentions), customer support (112), affordability (66) and the free plan (49). The most frequently mentioned cons are the learning curve (34), template limitations (33) and limited features (30) (G2).

The same story appears across all three sites. People love the price and the all-in-one setup, while the complaints focus on design limits, domain setup, and changes to account or sender email addresses.

Other negative reviews follow similar lines, and users describe strict identity checks when they tried to change their account or sender email address, and a few describe slow migrations and refused refunds, which matches the no-refund rule in Systeme.io's terms.

Our take: the praise is genuine and widespread, and the complaints are genuine too, but they cluster around a small number of known problems. If you set up your domain carefully, keep your sender email address stable and test thoroughly before paying, you can avoid most of them.

Systeme.io Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Generous free plan with 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, a course and unlimited emails for $0.

  • Low prices, with paid plans starting at $17 a month.

  • 0% transaction fees on every plan.

  • Everything in one place, including funnels, email, courses, a website, a blog, bookings and affiliates.

  • Two-factor authentication on by default for every account.

  • Strong reviews, scoring between 4.8 and 4.9 across Trustpilot, G2 and Capterra.

Cons

  • Tight automation limits on the free plan, with just 1 rule and 1 workflow.

  • No refunds on subscriptions under the terms.

  • Automatic upgrades if you stay over a limit for more than 3 days.

  • Domain setup that confuses some beginners.

  • AI Chat limited to the Unlimited plan for now.

  • No live chat or phone support.

Systeme.io Alternatives

If Systeme.io isn't the right fit, these are the strongest alternatives:

  • ClickFunnels offers more polished funnels and templates, starting at $81 a month billed yearly.

  • Kajabi suits a premium course and membership business, starting at $143 a month billed yearly.

  • Kit suits creators who mainly need email, with a free plan for up to 10,000 subscribers.

  • GoHighLevel suits agencies that need a CRM, client sub-accounts and white-label tools, as we explain in our GoHighLevel review.

  • Pabbly Connect isn't a funnel builder, but it's useful for linking Systeme.io to your other apps, as covered in our Pabbly Connect review.

Who Should Use Systeme.io (and Who Should Skip It)

Systeme.io is a good fit if you:

  • Are starting an online business and want to keep your costs as low as possible.

  • Sell a course, coaching, an ebook, a template or a membership.

  • Want your pages, emails and checkout behind a single login.

  • Send a lot of emails and don't want to pay for each one.

  • Prefer simple tools over endless settings.

You may want to skip it if you:

  • Need high-end, custom page designs straight out of the box.

  • Run a large store with many physical products and stock levels to manage.

  • Need detailed sales reports, call tracking or a full sales-team CRM.

  • Want live chat or phone support.

  • Run an agency and need to resell software under your own brand.

A quick self-test

Ask yourself these three questions:

  1. Am I paying for more than two tools to run my pages, emails and course today?

  2. Is saving money more important to me than having the most impressive design?

  3. Can I set aside one afternoon to learn a new tool?

If you answered yes to all three, Systeme.io is very likely a good fit for you. If you answered no to the second question, it's worth looking at ClickFunnels or Kajabi first.

Your First Week With Systeme.io: A Simple Plan

A tool only helps if you actually set it up, so here's a simple plan for your first seven days. Think of it like moving into a new home one room at a time, instead of trying to unpack every box on the first day.

  • Day 1: Create your free account, keep 2FA switched on, and explore every menu.

  • Day 2: Authenticate your sending domain, and ask support for free help with the records if you get stuck.

  • Day 3: Build a Build an Audience funnel with an opt-in page and a thank-you page.

  • Day 4: Write a short welcome email and attach your free guide.

  • Day 5: Add one automation rule that tags every new subscriber.

  • Day 6: Test the whole funnel with a second email address and fix anything that breaks.

  • Day 7: Share your opt-in page on your website, your social profiles and your email signature.

By the end of the week, you'll have a working lead magnet that collects emails and follows up with people automatically, all on the free plan.

Once that first funnel starts bringing in subscribers, you can add a course, a sales page or a checkout. Grow one step at a time, and upgrade only when you reach a real limit.

When to upgrade

It's time to move to a paid plan when you're getting close to 2,000 contacts, when you need more than one automation rule or workflow, or when you want to run more than three funnels or sell more than one course. You should also upgrade before you reach USD 10,000 in lifetime sales, since that is the free plan's limit.

For most people, Startup at $17 a month is the right next step, and Webinar only makes sense if you'll actually run an evergreen webinar.

Common Mistakes to Avoid With Systeme.io

New users tend to make the same handful of mistakes, and each one is easy to avoid:

  • Skipping domain authentication: your emails won't send properly without it, so set it up before anything else.

  • Using a free Gmail address as the sender: Systeme.io doesn't allow it, so use an address on your own domain.

  • Changing your sender email often: reviews show this can trigger identity checks, so choose one address and keep it.

  • Forgetting to save: the editor has no automatic saving, so click Save every few minutes.

  • Importing too many contacts: going over 2,000 contacts on the free plan starts the 3-day countdown to an automatic upgrade.

  • Paying before testing: subscriptions aren't refundable, so build a real funnel on the free plan first.

  • Leaving out the opt-out link and postal address: every marketing email needs both under CAN-SPAM.

  • Forgetting to remove buyers from sales emails: add an "Unsubscribe from campaign" action to your New sale rule, as in our worked example.

Frequently Asked Questions About Systeme.io

Is Systeme.io really free?

Yes, the free plan costs $0 forever and doesn't require a credit card. It includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course and unlimited emails, and free accounts can make up to USD 10,000 in lifetime sales.

How much does Systeme.io cost?

Startup costs $17 a month, Webinar costs $47 a month, and Unlimited costs $97 a month. Paying yearly costs $170, $470 and $970 respectively, which gives you 2 months free.

Does Systeme.io take a cut of my sales?

No, Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, although Stripe or PayPal still charge their own processing fees.

Can I get a refund from Systeme.io?

Systeme.io's terms say subscriptions are not refundable, and its help center says refund requests are reviewed case by case. That's why we recommend testing on the free plan before you pay.

How do I cancel Systeme.io?

Go to Settings, open Manage my subscriptions, click the three dots, and choose Cancel subscription. Your account returns to the free plan on your next payment date.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, every plan includes at least one custom domain, and you also need your own domain to send emails, because free Gmail addresses can't be used as senders.

Is Systeme.io good for beginners?

Yes, reviewers frequently describe it as beginner friendly, and the help center is clear and detailed. Domain setup and automations are the parts that take the most time to learn.

Does Systeme.io have AI tools?

Yes, the built-in AI Chat can build funnels, pages, emails and courses from plain-language requests, although it's only available on the Unlimited plan for now. Systeme.io also offers an MCP server for connecting outside AI assistants.

Is Systeme.io better than ClickFunnels?

Systeme.io is cheaper and has a free plan, while ClickFunnels offers more polished templates and more built-in AI. For most beginners, Systeme.io offers the better value.

Does Systeme.io have an affiliate program?

Yes, Systeme.io pays affiliates a 60% lifetime commission, and every user is enrolled automatically (Systeme.io affiliate guide).

Final Verdict

Systeme.io is one of the best-value all-in-one tools available to small online businesses in 2026.

The free plan alone can run a real business, with funnels, a course, unlimited emails and no transaction fees, and the paid plans stay affordable as you grow. More than 11,000 reviews across Trustpilot, G2 and Capterra back up that praise.

It isn't perfect, of course, because the templates are plain, the editor doesn't save automatically, subscriptions aren't refundable, and domain setup takes some patience.

Even so, for a coach, creator or small digital business that wants to stop paying for five separate tools, Systeme.io is an easy recommendation.

Our advice is simple: start on the free plan, build one funnel, send one automatic email, and test it with your own address. Within a single afternoon, you'll know whether Systeme.io is right for your business.
