GoHighLevel Review 2026: Pricing, Free Trial, Pros and Cons
GoHighLevel review: verified plan pricing, how the 14- and 30-day free trial works, real monthly costs, pros, cons and alternatives.

Most small businesses don't lose customers because their service is bad, or because their prices are too high.
They lose them because a lead fills in a form at 9 PM on a Monday, nobody replies until Thursday, and by then that lead has already booked with someone else.
GoHighLevel (also called HighLevel) promises to fix that kind of leak. It puts your website, forms, texts, emails, booking calendar and follow-up in one place, so a new lead gets a reply in seconds, not days.
That's a big promise, and like most big promises in software, it comes with a monthly bill that's worth understanding before you sign up.
In this GoHighLevel review, we'll explain what the software does, who it's really for, what GoHighLevel pricing looks like once usage fees are added, how the GoHighLevel free trial works, and which alternatives may suit you better.
Before we start, there are a few honest notes you should know about how this review was put together.
Affiliate disclosure: Vivid Algo may earn a commission if you sign up through some links in this article, at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change what we say. If you'd like the details, you can read our full affiliate disclosure.
We put this note at the top because the Federal Trade Commission says affiliate relationships should be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and that the closer the disclosure is to the recommendation, the better (FTC).
How we researched this review: We analyzed HighLevel's official pricing page, its feature documentation, its help center pricing guides, and the billing and trial terms on its trial offer pages. Then we compared it with rival tools' official pricing and checked every claim against credible sources. We checked every price on Thursday, October 29, 2026, in US dollars. Where we share what other reviewers say, we tell you who said it.
Prices change often, so always check the live GoHighLevel pricing page before you buy.
GoHighLevel Review: The Short Answer
GoHighLevel is an all-in-one sales and marketing system. It replaces several separate tools with one login (HighLevel pricing).
Here's our quick verdict, before we dig into the details in the sections below:
Best for: marketing agencies, plus local service businesses that win customers by phone, text or booked appointments.
Price: from $97 a month, or $970 a year on the Starter plan (HighLevel pricing).
Free trial: 14 days on any plan from the pricing page, or 30 days through HighLevel's bootcamp offer page (HighLevel pricing, HighLevel bootcamp page).
Biggest strength: unlimited contacts and unlimited users on every plan (HighLevel pricing).
Biggest catch: texts, calls, emails and some AI features cost extra, on top of the plan (HighLevel pricing).
Second catch: it does a lot, so it takes real time to learn. Several reviewers say to expect weeks, not hours (AutoGen CRM, Pierce Tagle).
If you'll set it up properly and use at least a few of its parts, it can be strong value. If you only need one tool, like email, it's probably too much.

What Is GoHighLevel?
Think of GoHighLevel as a Swiss Army knife for getting and keeping customers.
Most small businesses use a drawer full of separate tools: one for the website, one for email, one for booking, one for texting and one for reviews.
Each tool has its own login, its own bill and its own copy of your customer list, which means details get out of date and leads slip through the gaps between them.
GoHighLevel tries to fold all of those blades into one handle, so every tool shares the same customer list.
HighLevel's own pricing page says most users replace their CRM, funnel builder, email marketing software, appointment scheduler, SMS marketing tool and review management software with it (HighLevel pricing).
A CRM (customer relationship management system) is simply a smart address book that keeps every customer's details, messages and history in one place.
A funnel is a short series of web pages that guides a visitor, step by step, toward one action, like booking a call or buying a product.
Why it matters for a small business
The real value isn't any single feature, because each one exists elsewhere. It's that the parts talk to each other without you copying anything by hand.
Here's a simple example of how the pieces can work together for a local business:
New form filled in → Contact saved in the CRM → Instant text reply → Booking link sent → Reminder before the appointment → Review request after the job.
That's a workflow. In GoHighLevel, all of those steps can live in one system (HighLevel pricing).
If you'd like the basics of this kind of follow-up first, read our guide on how to automate lead follow-up with AI.
Agencies and sub-accounts, in plain English
GoHighLevel was built with marketing agencies in mind. That shapes how its plans work.
The key idea is the sub-account. A sub-account is a separate workspace for one business (HighLevel pricing).
Picture an apartment building where the agency owns the building and each client gets their own apartment with its own key, so no client can see into another client's rooms.
If you run one business, you'll usually only need one sub-account, but if you're an agency, every client you serve gets one of their own.
Who GoHighLevel Is For (and Who Should Skip It)
GoHighLevel isn't for everyone, and matching it to the way your business actually wins customers is the most important step in this whole review.
GoHighLevel is a good fit if you are:
A marketing agency that manages leads, ads, websites or follow-up for several clients. Unlimited sub-accounts start on the $297 plan (HighLevel pricing).
A local service business that lives on calls, texts and bookings, such as cleaners, roofers, med spas, gyms and dental offices.
A coach or consultant who sells calls, courses or memberships. HighLevel lists courses and communities among its core features (HighLevel pricing).
A growing team that's tired of paying per user. Every plan includes unlimited users (HighLevel pricing).
Someone who wants to resell software. The Agency Pro plan includes "SaaS Mode," which lets an agency sell HighLevel to clients under its own brand (HighLevel pricing).
You may want to skip it if you are:
An online store. One reviewer notes that it can take payments, but an online shop is better served by a proper ecommerce platform (Pierce Tagle).
A business that only needs email marketing. A dedicated email tool can cost much less. ActiveCampaign, for example, starts at $15 a month billed yearly for 1,000 contacts (ActiveCampaign pricing).
Short on setup time. If nobody on your team can spend time learning it, it may sit unused. Reviewers call it "an expensive unused login" in that case (Pierce Tagle).
A very low-volume business. If you get a handful of leads a month, a free CRM may be enough. HubSpot offers a free plan at $0 a month (HubSpot pricing).
A quick self-test
Answer these three questions with a simple yes or no, and be honest with yourself:
Do you lose leads because replies to calls, forms or messages are slow?
Do you pay for three or more separate marketing tools today, each with its own bill?
Can someone on your team give it a few hours a week for the first month?
If you said yes to all three, GoHighLevel is worth a serious look, but if you said no to two or more, you'll probably be happier starting with a simpler and cheaper tool.
GoHighLevel Pricing: Plans Explained (Verified October 29, 2026)
Here's the part most people come for. We checked GoHighLevel pricing on its official page in US dollars, using both the monthly and the annual views (HighLevel pricing).
All three main plans include unlimited contacts, unlimited users and a 14-day free trial (HighLevel pricing).
Starter plan: $97 a month or $970 a year
Price: $97 a month on monthly billing, or $970 a year on annual billing, which works out to about $80.83 a month (HighLevel pricing).
Sub-accounts: 3 (HighLevel pricing).
Includes: unlimited contacts, unlimited users, 24/7 support and all core features (HighLevel pricing).
Described as: "Perfect for smaller businesses and solo marketers" (HighLevel pricing).
Unlimited plan: $297 a month or $2,970 a year
Price: $297 a month on monthly billing, or $2,970 a year on annual billing, which is about $247.50 a month (HighLevel pricing).
Sub-accounts: unlimited (HighLevel pricing).
Adds: rebilling of phone and email costs to clients with no markup, plus basic API access (HighLevel pricing).
Marked as: "Most popular" and "Built for growing agencies" (HighLevel pricing).
An API (application programming interface) is like a waiter in a restaurant. It carries requests between two apps, so they can share data without you copying it by hand.
Rebilling means the agency passes usage costs, like texts, on to the client who used them (HighLevel pricing guide).
Agency Pro plan: $497 a month or $4,970 a year
Price: $497 a month on monthly billing, or $4,970 a year on annual billing, which is about $414.17 a month (HighLevel pricing).
Adds: SaaS Mode, automatic sub-account creation, rebilling phone and email with markup, user and agent reporting, and advanced API access (HighLevel pricing).
Described as: "Ideal for SaaSPRENEURs & Agencies looking to go SaaS" (HighLevel pricing).
SaaS (software as a service) just means software that people rent by the month instead of buying outright, a bit like Netflix for business tools.
Enterprise plan: custom pricing
HighLevel also lists an Enterprise plan for high-volume businesses and agencies. It has no public price. You have to speak with its enterprise team (HighLevel pricing).
Monthly vs yearly: how much you save
Paying yearly costs the same as about 10 months of monthly billing, so in other words, you get roughly two months free in exchange for paying up front.
Starter: $97 × 12 = $1,164 a year monthly, vs $970 yearly. You save $194 (HighLevel pricing).
Unlimited: $297 × 12 = $3,564 a year monthly, vs $2,970 yearly. You save $594 (HighLevel pricing).
Agency Pro: $497 × 12 = $5,964 a year monthly, vs $4,970 yearly. You save $994 (HighLevel pricing).
Our advice is to start monthly and switch to yearly only after you're sure you'll keep it, because a year is a long time to pay for software you don't use. Monthly plans have no long-term contract, and you can cancel from your dashboard at any time (HighLevel pricing).
Can you switch plans later?
Yes. HighLevel says you can upgrade from Starter to Unlimited or Pro as you grow. If you upgrade mid-month, you pay only the prorated difference. You can also downgrade (HighLevel pricing).
"Prorated" means you pay only for the days left in the month, like paying for half a tank of gas instead of a full one.
See current GoHighLevel pricing and plans.
The Hidden Costs: Usage Fees Explained
This is the part many GoHighLevel reviews skim over, and it's also where most surprise bills come from.
HighLevel's own FAQ says your subscription covers the platform, but phone numbers, texts, emails and premium AI cost extra (HighLevel pricing).
Think of it like a phone contract, where the plan gets you the phone but calls and texts are billed as you use them.
How the wallet works
Usage is paid from a prepaid balance called the Agency Wallet. When a service is used, the charge comes out of the wallet. When the balance drops too low, HighLevel automatically charges your card to top it up (HighLevel pricing guide).
It works like a toll tag on your car: you load money once, and each trip through the toll takes a little off the balance.
Phone and text prices (US and Canada)
HighLevel's built-in phone system is called LC Phone. HighLevel says its pricing matches Twilio's, a popular phone service for apps (HighLevel pricing guide).
Here are the main US rates we found in HighLevel's help center, checked on October 29, 2026:
Phone numbers: a local number costs $1.15 a month, and a toll-free number costs $2.15 a month (HighLevel phone pricing).
Text messages (SMS): each segment costs $0.00747, whether you send it or receive it (HighLevel phone pricing).
Picture messages (MMS): each segment you send costs $0.0220 (HighLevel phone pricing).
Phone calls: outbound calls cost $0.0166 a minute in total and inbound calls cost $0.01165 a minute in total, both after a discount (HighLevel phone pricing).
A "segment" is a chunk of a text message. Longer texts are split into more segments, so they cost more (HighLevel pricing guide).
Note that incoming texts are charged too, not just the ones you send, which surprises many new users (HighLevel phone pricing).
HighLevel also says it won't refund texts that fail to deliver, once a delivery attempt has been made (HighLevel phone pricing).
Text registration fees (A2P 10DLC)
In the US, businesses that send texts from a normal local number must register first. This is called A2P 10DLC (application-to-person texting over a standard 10-digit number). It's a bit like registering a delivery van with the city before it's allowed to make deliveries on public roads.
Registration isn't the only rule. The FCC says commercial texts require written consent, and consumers can opt out at any time and in any reasonable manner (FCC). The wireless industry group CTIA also says senders should get express written consent for marketing messages and make sure people can revoke it (CTIA).
HighLevel lists these fees (HighLevel phone pricing):
Sole proprietor: up to $2.10 a month per campaign, plus a $22.50 one-time fee.
Low volume: $1.50 to $10.50 a month per campaign, plus a $22.50 one-time fee.
High volume: $10.50 a month per campaign, plus a $64.00 one-time fee.
The one-time fees include a $3 Fast Track fee, which is non-refundable. HighLevel also warns that submitting a campaign starts both fees, whether or not it's approved (HighLevel phone pricing).
One piece of good news: since February 1, 2026, resubmitting a rejected campaign is free. The old $15 fee was removed (HighLevel phone pricing).
Email and AI costs
Email sending: $0.675 per 1,000 emails on all plans (HighLevel pricing guide).
Email validation: $2.50 per 1,000 checks. This tests whether an address is real before you send to it (HighLevel pricing guide).
AI pay-per-use: no monthly fee. You pay for what the AI actually uses (HighLevel pricing guide).
AI Employee Growth plan: $50 a month per sub-account, with set monthly limits (HighLevel pricing).
AI Employee Unlimited plan: $97 a month per sub-account. HighLevel says it covers unlimited use of Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI and Content AI, subject to fair use (HighLevel pricing guide).
Optional add-ons
You don't need any of these to get started, but they're worth knowing about so they don't surprise you later (HighLevel pricing):
For messaging and branding: WhatsApp integration costs $10 a month per sub-account plus usage, a branded client portal app costs $49 a month per sub-account, and a white label mobile app costs $497 a month.
For email sending: a dedicated email IP, which gives you your own sending address so other senders can't hurt your reputation, costs $59 a month per IP.
For local marketing: online listings management costs $30 a month per sub-account, the premium prospecting tool costs $29 a month per sub-account, and SEO (search engine optimization, powered by Search Atlas) costs $79 a month per sub-account.
For health businesses: HIPAA compliance costs $297 a month, and HIPAA is the US law that protects patient health data.
For extra help and hosting: premium support costs $500 a month, WordPress hosting starts at $10 a month per site, and the HighLevel Certification Program costs $97 a month.
Worked Examples: What GoHighLevel Really Costs Per Month
Plan prices alone don't tell the full story, so here are three made-up businesses, priced with the official rates listed above.
Example 1: A local cleaning company on Starter
Meet Bright Path Cleaning, a made-up company with two office staff. In a typical month, they:
send 2,000 text segments and receive 600;
send 4,000 emails;
make 200 minutes of outbound calls and take 150 minutes of inbound calls;
use one local phone number.
Here's the monthly math, using the official US rates from HighLevel's help center:
Starter plan: $97.00 (HighLevel pricing)
Local number: $1.15 (HighLevel phone pricing)
Sent texts: 2,000 × $0.00747 = $14.94
Received texts: 600 × $0.00747 = $4.48
Emails: 4,000 ÷ 1,000 × $0.675 = $2.70 (HighLevel pricing guide)
Outbound calls: 200 × $0.0166 = $3.32
Inbound calls: 150 × $0.01165 = $1.75
Total: about $125.34 a month, plus a low-volume text campaign fee of $1.50 to $10.50 a month (HighLevel phone pricing).
That puts Bright Path at roughly $127 to $136 a month, and in the first month you'd also add the $22.50 one-time registration fee.
Carrier surcharges from mobile networks can add a little more on top, so leave some room (HighLevel phone pricing).
The lesson: for a small business with steady volume, usage fees are often modest, and the plan itself is the main cost.
Example 2: The same company adds an AI assistant
Now Bright Path wants an AI that answers website chats and texts after hours.
It chooses the AI Employee Growth plan at $50 a month (HighLevel pricing).
About $125.34 (Example 1) + $50.00 = about $175.34 a month, before the text campaign fee.
That's a 40% jump over the first example, which may still be worth it if the AI saves even one lost job a month, but it's a cost you should budget for from day one.
If you're weighing AI against a person for this job, see our comparison of an AI receptionist vs a human receptionist.
Example 3: A small agency with 8 clients
Now picture a two-person marketing agency that manages lead follow-up for 8 local business clients.
Starter only includes 3 sub-accounts, so they need the Unlimited plan at $297 a month (HighLevel pricing).
$297 ÷ 8 clients = about $37.13 per client per month for the software.
On Unlimited, the agency can also pass phone and email usage to each client at cost (HighLevel pricing).
If the agency charges each client even $150 a month for managed follow-up, the software becomes a small slice of its income, which helps explain why so many agencies build their business on it.
GoHighLevel Free Trial: How It Works
The GoHighLevel free trial lets you try the full product before you pay for the plan.
The standard 14-day trial
The pricing page offers a free 14-day trial on any plan. HighLevel says you get full access to the features of your chosen tier (HighLevel pricing).
The 30-day trial through the bootcamp page
HighLevel also runs a bootcamp offer page with a longer trial. It promises a 30-day free trial plus a free live bootcamp, which it says runs every weekday at 11 AM Central Time (HighLevel bootcamp page).
That page says you can cancel anytime without being charged the subscription cost. It also warns that communication surcharges may apply during the trial (HighLevel bootcamp page).
If you're new to the platform and plan to learn it yourself, the longer trial plus live training is usually the better deal, since you get more time and more help.
Get the 30-day GoHighLevel free trial and bootcamp.
Three things to know before you start
Billing starts automatically. HighLevel says billing begins at the end of any free trial unless you cancel (HighLevel pricing). So expect to enter payment details when you sign up.
Usage isn't free. Texts, calls and other usage fees may be charged during the trial (HighLevel pricing).
Set a reminder. Put a reminder in your calendar on the day you sign up, set for two days before the trial ends, so you have time to decide calmly.
A trial plan that makes the most of 14 or 30 days
Don't try to learn everything, because that's like trying to read a whole cookbook before you cook a single meal.
Instead, build one complete path from start to finish, and test it until it works the way a real customer would experience it:
Days 1 to 3: Import a small test list of contacts, ideally made-up ones or your own, and connect your booking calendar.
Days 4 to 7: Build one simple form and one booking page, starting from a snapshot if one fits your industry.
Days 8 to 10: Build one workflow: form filled → instant text → booking link → reminder.
Days 11 to 12: Test the whole path yourself, using your own phone and email, as if you were a brand-new customer.
Days 13 to 14: Check your wallet charges against our worked examples, and then decide whether to keep it.
On the 30-day trial, use the extra time for the live bootcamp and a review-request workflow.
Before you connect real customer data, read our guide on whether it's safe to connect your business apps to automation tools.
Key GoHighLevel Features Explained
HighLevel lists a long set of core features on its pricing page (HighLevel pricing). Here are the ones that matter most for small businesses, in plain English.
CRM and pipelines
The CRM holds every contact, message and note. Pipelines show where each deal stands (HighLevel pricing).
Picture a row of buckets labeled "New lead," "Quote sent" and "Won," where each customer card moves from bucket to bucket as the deal moves forward.
Every plan includes unlimited contacts (HighLevel pricing), which matters more than it sounds, because some tools raise your price every time your list grows. ActiveCampaign, for example, prices its plans by contact count (ActiveCampaign pricing).
Websites, funnels, forms and surveys
You can build websites, funnels, forms, surveys and quizzes, and connect your own domain (HighLevel pricing).
Several reviewers say the page builder works but feels less polished than dedicated page builders (Pierce Tagle, AI Strike Force).
Unified conversations
Texts, emails and other messages land in one shared inbox, called Unified Conversations (HighLevel pricing).
It's like having one mailbox at the front door instead of five mailboxes scattered around the house, each with its own key.
Booking calendars
Customers can book time with you online, and the system can send reminders (HighLevel pricing).
If booking is your main need, compare options in our AI scheduling assistant guide.
Workflow automation
Workflows are the engine room of the platform, and a workflow is simply a set of "when this happens, do that" rules (HighLevel pricing).
Think of a row of dominoes, where one action, like a form being filled in, tips over the next step, and then the next, without anyone pushing them.
Reviewers often call workflows the most valuable part of the platform (AI Strike Force, AutoGen CRM).
New to this idea? Our guide to AI workflow automation explains it step by step.
Email and SMS marketing
You can send email and text campaigns from inside HighLevel. Usage charges apply (HighLevel pricing).
One reviewer warns that email deliverability is "on you." You still need to set up your domain properly and keep your list clean (Rocket Launcher).
Deliverability just means whether your emails land in the inbox or the spam folder.
The law applies no matter which tool sends the email. The FTC's CAN-SPAM guide says every commercial email must include a valid physical postal address and a way to opt out, and opt-outs must be honored within 10 business days (FTC). It also says there's no exception for business-to-business email, and each separate email that breaks the law can bring penalties of up to $53,088 (FTC).
AI tools
HighLevel lists Conversation AI, Voice AI, Content AI, Funnel AI and Reviews AI among its features. Some carry usage charges (HighLevel pricing).
Conversation AI can reply to chats and texts.
Voice AI can answer phone calls.
Content AI helps write text, like emails and posts.
Reviews AI helps reply to customer reviews.
HighLevel's own disclaimer says its AI features need setup, configuration and ongoing human oversight, and that results vary (HighLevel pricing).
If you turn on Voice AI for outbound calls, be careful. The FCC says AI-generated voice calls are illegal unless the consumer has agreed to receive them or the caller is exempt (FCC). For a free, plain checklist on managing AI risks, the National Institute of Standards and Technology offers its AI Risk Management Framework, which it says is intended for voluntary use (NIST).
That's an honest warning worth taking seriously. Our guide on why AI automation makes mistakes explains how to keep AI on track.
Reputation management and reviews
HighLevel includes online reputation management tools for asking for and handling reviews (HighLevel pricing).
For local businesses, this alone can be worth a lot, because more good reviews on your listing usually means more people pick up the phone and call you.
Payments, invoicing, courses and communities
You can send invoices and take payments through providers such as Stripe, PayPal and Square (HighLevel pricing).
You can also host online courses and member communities (HighLevel pricing).
Social media, ads and the mobile app
HighLevel lists social media management, an ad manager and a HighLevel mobile app as core features (HighLevel pricing).
Some reviewers say the mobile app is one of the weaker parts, with reported bugs after updates (AutoGen CRM, AI Strike Force).
Snapshots: ready-made templates
A snapshot is a pre-built account setup for a type of business. HighLevel says it offers a snapshot library for industries like real estate, dentists and gyms (HighLevel pricing).
It's like moving into a furnished apartment instead of an empty one, so you'll still rearrange the furniture, but you're not starting from bare walls.
White labeling
You can white-label the desktop web app. That means your clients see your logo and brand when they log in, not HighLevel's (HighLevel pricing).
How to Use GoHighLevel: Step-by-Step
Here's a clear path from a new account to a working system that captures leads, follows up and books appointments. Each step follows HighLevel's official help center, so you can open the linked guide for screenshots and extra detail.
Step 1: Set up your sub-account with LaunchPad
Open your sub-account and click LaunchPad in the left menu (HighLevel LaunchPad guide).
Fill in your business details, branding and business hours first, because LaunchPad groups these under foundational setup (HighLevel LaunchPad guide).
Pick the next task from the list, follow the short video or guided tour, then return to LaunchPad to see your progress (HighLevel LaunchPad guide).
Step 2: Connect your email and phone
Go to Settings > Email Services, click Dedicated Domain and IP, then Add Domain (HighLevel email, phone and SMS guide).
Enter a subdomain such as lc.yourdomain.com, add the DNS records shown at your domain registrar, and click Verify Records (HighLevel email, phone and SMS guide).
Use the 3-dot menu and Set Headers to add your From Name and From Email, then save (HighLevel email, phone and SMS guide).
Go to Settings > Phone System, click Add Number, filter by country or area code, pick a number and click Proceed to Buy (HighLevel email, phone and SMS guide).
To send calls to your mobile, open the number's 3-dot menu, choose Edit Configuration, enter the forwarding number and save (HighLevel email, phone and SMS guide).
US businesses that plan to text customers also need A2P 10DLC registration, which we cover in the usage fees section above.
Step 3: Import your contacts
Go to Contacts and click the Import icon (HighLevel import guide).
Select Contacts, confirm your file format and upload a CSV file of up to 50 MB (HighLevel import guide).
Match each column in your file to a contact field. For extra data, create a custom field under Settings > Custom Fields first (HighLevel import guide).
Name the import, set consent preferences and click Bulk Import (HighLevel import guide).
Only import people who agreed to hear from you. The FTC's CAN-SPAM guide covers the basic rules for marketing email (FTC).
Step 4: Build your website or funnel and connect your domain
Go to Sites > Websites, click + New Website, and start from a template or a blank page (HighLevel website guide).
Edit the text, images, buttons and forms, check the mobile view, add a page title and meta description, then click Save (HighLevel website guide).
In the website's Settings tab, click Connect Domain, enter your domain, and add the DNS records HighLevel gives you (HighLevel website guide).
Once the domain shows as connected, pick it in the Domain dropdown, save, and click Publish on every page (HighLevel website guide).
For a sales funnel, the domain steps are the same: Settings > Domains, Connect a Domain, Verify Records, then link the domain to your funnel (HighLevel funnel guide).
DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to update, and HighLevel adds the security certificate (SSL) for you once the records are verified (HighLevel website guide).
Step 5: Set up your sales pipeline
Go to Opportunities, click Pipelines, then Create New Pipeline (HighLevel pipelines guide).
Name the pipeline and add stages that match how your leads move, such as New Lead, Hot Lead, Booked Call, No Show and Closed (HighLevel pipelines guide).
Add deals by hand, import them from a CSV file, or let a workflow create them automatically (HighLevel pipelines guide).
Step 6: Create a booking calendar
Go to Calendar > Calendar Settings and click + New Calendar (HighLevel calendar guide).
For one-on-one meetings, choose Personal Booking (HighLevel calendar guide).
Name it, select yourself as host, set the meeting length and your available hours, then click Confirm (HighLevel calendar guide).
Copy the calendar link or embed code and add it to your website, emails and social profiles (HighLevel calendar guide).
Step 7: Build a new-lead follow-up workflow
Workflows have two main parts: a trigger that starts them and actions that run after it (HighLevel workflows guide).
Open the workflows area of your sub-account, create a new workflow, and start from a ready-made recipe or from scratch (HighLevel workflows guide).
Click Add New Trigger and choose Form Submitted, so the workflow starts when someone fills in your website form (HighLevel workflows guide).
Add a filter if you want, for example to run it only for one form (HighLevel workflows guide).
Click Add Action and add a welcome SMS or email with your booking link (HighLevel workflows guide).
Add an action that creates an opportunity in the New Lead stage of your pipeline (HighLevel pipelines guide).
Save and publish the workflow, because workflows only run once they're published (HighLevel workflows guide).
Submit a test entry on your form and confirm the message arrives and the deal appears (HighLevel funnel guide).
Step 8: Ask happy customers for reviews
Connect your Google Business Profile and turn on review requests in your sub-account settings (HighLevel review requests guide).
Send a request by hand from Quick Actions or from Reputation > Requests (HighLevel review requests guide).
To automate it, add the Send Review Request action to a workflow and pick SMS or email (HighLevel review requests guide).
Time the request for a happy moment, such as a finished job or a reached milestone (HighLevel coaching playbook).
Step 9: Track results on a dashboard
Open the Dashboard in your sub-account, click the dashboard menu and choose + Add Dashboard (HighLevel dashboard guide).
Name it, choose who can see it, and click Confirm (HighLevel dashboard guide).
Add widgets for the numbers that matter, such as contacts, appointments, opportunities and revenue (HighLevel dashboard guide).
Schedule the report so it lands in your inbox every week (HighLevel dashboard guide).
Good numbers to watch are leads captured, appointments booked, show rate, deals won and reviews received (HighLevel coaching playbook).
Support, Training and the Learning Curve
Because GoHighLevel does so much, the help you can get matters almost as much as the features themselves.
Every one of the three main plans includes 24/7 support, according to HighLevel's pricing page (HighLevel pricing).
If you want more hands-on help, HighLevel sells a Premium Support add-on for $500 a month, which is a serious cost for a small business and makes more sense for a busy agency (HighLevel pricing).
For learning, HighLevel's bootcamp page says its free live bootcamp runs every weekday at 11 AM Central Time, and it's open to people who sign up for the 30-day trial on that page (HighLevel bootcamp page).
HighLevel also sells a Certification Program for $97 a month, which is aimed at people who want to become skilled GoHighLevel builders, often to offer setup as a service (HighLevel pricing).
What reviewers say about the learning curve
Independent reviewers agree on this point more than any other, and the most common estimate is that you'll need about 2 to 4 weeks before you feel comfortable with the platform (AutoGen CRM, GHL Desk).
One reviewer compares the first week to "drinking from a fire hose" and suggests starting from a snapshot, so you're editing pieces that already work instead of staring at a blank account (Rocket Launcher).
Learning GoHighLevel is a bit like learning to drive a car with a manual gearbox: the first few days feel clumsy, but once the basics become habit, you stop thinking about the controls and start thinking about where you want to go.
Should you pay someone to set it up?
If your time is worth more than the cost of help, hiring an experienced GoHighLevel builder for the first setup can make sense, because a working system on day one beats a half-built one on day thirty.
Just ask any builder to show you real workflows they've built for businesses like yours, and make sure your account stays in your name, so you keep control of your own customer data.
GoHighLevel vs Buying Separate Tools
The main sales pitch for GoHighLevel is that it replaces several tools, so it's worth checking that claim with real numbers rather than taking it on trust.
Here's a simple, made-up comparison for a business that wants funnels and email marketing from two separate tools, using prices we checked on each official page:
ClickFunnels Launch at $97 a month on monthly billing (ClickFunnels pricing).
ActiveCampaign Plus from $49 a month, billed yearly for 1,000 contacts (ActiveCampaign pricing).
Total: about $146 a month for two tools, before adding any booking, texting or review tool.
GoHighLevel's Starter plan costs $97 a month and lists funnels, email marketing, booking calendars, texting and reputation management among its core features (HighLevel pricing).
On paper, that makes GoHighLevel cheaper, but remember that it charges for email sending and texts by usage, and that a dedicated tool may do its one job more smoothly (HighLevel pricing guide, Rocket Launcher).
The fair way to think about it is like buying a combo meal instead of three separate items: it's usually cheaper and simpler, but you may not get the exact best version of every item.
What Customers Say About GoHighLevel
Ratings tell you how a tool feels after the sales page is closed, so here's what real users report on two of the biggest review sites, checked on October 29, 2026.
Trustpilot: 4.9 out of 5 from 15,263 reviews. About 97% of reviews give 5 stars and about 2% give 1 star (Trustpilot).
Capterra: 4.1 out of 5 from 90 reviews. Users rate ease of use at 3.7 and customer service at 3.7 (Capterra).

How to read these scores
The two scores tell different stories, and both are useful. Trustpilot's AI summary says reviewers praise HighLevel's support staff as "extremely patient, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful" (Trustpilot).
Many of those Trustpilot reviews are written right after a support or onboarding session, so they mostly rate the support team. Trustpilot also notes that HighLevel invites its customers to leave reviews (Trustpilot).
Capterra reviews tend to rate the whole product after months of use. That's why its ease-of-use score of 3.7 is the better guide to how hard the platform is to learn.
Common themes in customer reviews
Helpful support. This is the most common praise on Trustpilot, where users name the staff who helped them.
Lots of tools in one place. Capterra users like that funnels, email, automation and the CRM live together.
A steep learning curve. Users often say the platform takes a while to learn and can feel overwhelming at first.
Billing complaints. Some 1-star reviews describe surprise charges or trouble cancelling.
What users like
"Overall, we have been pretty happy with how go high-level as allowed us to automate so much of the marketing in our chiropractic Practice." (Kassidy K., Capterra, February 12, 2026)
"Overall is a great system to sell to clients if you are building funnels and email automations, they keep adding new features..." (Alexandra L, Capterra, September 17, 2025)
"I had the best support experience with Nidhi Symon Kakaty... She was so patient and provided exemplary support." (Sandra Riehl, Trustpilot, October 27, 2026)
A 5-star Capterra review from a chiropractic practice. Source: Capterra, October 29, 2026.
What users dislike
"The platform is for computer programmers, not for marketers. Everything from creating a basic landing page sign up, to communities, to courses is SO SO SO complicated to set up, run and scale." (Zack M., Capterra, November 3, 2024)
"They ignored my messages, charged me for an entire month I NEVER USED, and took advantage of automatic billing." (Fase Uno Startup Studio, Trustpilot, October 2, 2026)
The lesson from the negative reviews is simple: plan time to learn the platform, and cancel any trial or plan from your billing settings before the renewal date, then save the confirmation.
GoHighLevel Pros and Cons
Here's a balanced summary, based on HighLevel's official pages and what other reviewers report.
Pros
Many tools in one login. It can replace a CRM, funnel builder, email tool, scheduler, text tool and review tool (HighLevel pricing).
Unlimited contacts and users. Your plan price doesn't rise as your customer list or your team grows, which makes costs easier to predict (HighLevel pricing).
No long-term contract. Plans are month to month, and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from your dashboard (HighLevel pricing).
Built-in texting and calling. You can buy numbers, text and call inside HighLevel without connecting a separate phone service (HighLevel pricing guide).
Strong for agencies. Sub-accounts, snapshots, rebilling and white labeling are built in (HighLevel pricing).
Powerful workflows. Reviewers widely rate them as the platform's biggest strength (AI Strike Force).
Generous trial. 14 days on any plan, or 30 days through the bootcamp page (HighLevel pricing, HighLevel bootcamp page).
Cons
Steep learning curve. Several reviewers say it takes about 2 to 4 weeks of regular use before most people feel comfortable with it (AutoGen CRM).
Usage fees on top. Texts, calls, emails and some AI features are billed as extras, so your real monthly bill will be higher than the plan price (HighLevel pricing).
Jack of all trades. One reviewer says it's rarely the single best tool in any one category (Rocket Launcher).
Frequent changes. New features ship fast, and reviewers say screens and settings move around, so tutorials go out of date (Pierce Tagle).
Uneven support. Reviewers report that answers to complex issues can take a few rounds (Rocket Launcher, AI Strike Force).
Text registration hassle. US businesses must register for A2P 10DLC, which costs money and can be rejected (HighLevel phone pricing, AutoGen CRM).
GoHighLevel Alternatives Worth Considering
GoHighLevel isn't the only option, so here are four alternatives, with prices we checked on each official page on October 29, 2026.
ClickFunnels: best if funnels are your main need
ClickFunnels focuses mainly on sales funnels and online courses, and it's a popular choice with coaches and people who sell digital products.
Launch plan: $97 a month, or $81 a month billed annually (ClickFunnels pricing).
Scale plan: $197 a month, or $164 a month billed annually (ClickFunnels pricing).
Launch limits: 1 workspace, 2 team members and 10,000 contacts (ClickFunnels pricing).
Our take: Starter on GoHighLevel costs the same $97 monthly but includes unlimited contacts and users (HighLevel pricing). ClickFunnels may suit you better if you mainly sell courses or digital products.
HubSpot: best if you want to start free
HubSpot is one of the best-known CRMs in the world, and it offers a free plan that many small businesses start with before they upgrade.
Free plan: $0 a month, no credit card required (HubSpot pricing).
Starter: shown at $7 a month per seat, billed annually, as a limited-time 65% off offer (HubSpot pricing).
Professional: shown at $90 a month per seat, billed annually (HubSpot pricing).
Our take: On pricing structure, HubSpot charges per seat (per user) while GoHighLevel doesn't, so for a team of five or more people, that difference adds up fast.
Keap: best for automation-heavy small businesses
Keap offers CRM, automation, email and text, landing pages, payments and appointments.
Price: starting at $299 a month, billed monthly (Keap pricing).
Our take: Keap's starting price is close to GoHighLevel's Unlimited plan, while GoHighLevel's Starter plan costs about a third of that.
ActiveCampaign: best for email marketing only
ActiveCampaign is a strong email marketing and automation tool that has been popular with small businesses for many years.
Starter: from $15 a month, billed yearly for 1,000 contacts (ActiveCampaign pricing).
Plus: from $49 a month, billed yearly for 1,000 contacts (ActiveCampaign pricing).
Pro: from $79 a month, billed yearly for 1,000 contacts (ActiveCampaign pricing).
Our take: If email is the only thing you need, ActiveCampaign costs far less to get started with than any GoHighLevel plan. But its prices rise with your contact count, and it doesn't include booking, texting and websites in one place the way GoHighLevel does (ActiveCampaign pricing, HighLevel pricing).

What Most GoHighLevel Reviews Leave Out
While researching this review, we read several of the top-ranking GoHighLevel reviews, and we noticed a pattern that's worth pointing out to you.
Many of them are written by agencies that sell GoHighLevel setup services, so they naturally focus on agency features like SaaS Mode and reselling, and spend less time on single small businesses (Pierce Tagle, AI Strike Force).
Few of them work out a full monthly bill with the official usage rates, which is why we built the worked examples above using HighLevel's own help center pricing.
Even fewer explain the text registration rules, the fact that incoming texts are charged, or the ongoing cost of stored call recordings, even though these are the details that turn a $97 plan into a bigger bill (HighLevel phone pricing).
We'd rather you know all of this before your trial starts than discover it on your first invoice.
Which GoHighLevel Plan Should You Choose?
Here's a simple way to decide which plan fits you, based on how many businesses you'll manage.
You run one business: choose Starter ($97 a month). Three sub-accounts is plenty (HighLevel pricing).
You're an agency with more than 3 clients: choose Unlimited ($297 a month), since it removes the sub-account cap (HighLevel pricing).
You want to sell software under your own brand: choose Agency Pro ($497 a month) for SaaS Mode (HighLevel pricing).
You're not sure yet: start a trial on Starter. You can upgrade later and pay only the prorated difference (HighLevel pricing).
Compare GoHighLevel plans on the official pricing page.
Common Mistakes to Avoid With GoHighLevel
Trying to learn everything at once. It's far better to build one working path from form to booking first, and add more pieces only once that path runs smoothly.
Forgetting usage costs. Estimate how many texts, calls and emails you send in a normal month before you buy, the same way we did in our worked examples.
Skipping text registration. Plan for A2P 10DLC fees and review time if you'll text US customers (HighLevel phone pricing).
Paying yearly too soon. Prove that the system works for your business on monthly billing first, then switch to yearly once you're sure you'll stay.
Leaving call recordings on forever. HighLevel charges ongoing storage for saved call recordings, including old ones (HighLevel phone pricing).
Letting AI run unchecked. HighLevel itself says its AI needs ongoing human oversight (HighLevel pricing).
Texting or emailing without permission. The FCC says commercial texts require written consent, and the FTC says marketing emails must offer a working opt-out (FCC, FTC).
Sharing one login across the team. The U.S. Small Business Administration recommends multi-factor authentication and a separate user account for each employee (SBA).
Ignoring card security when you take payments. The PCI Security Standards Council says its PCI DSS standard applies to all merchants involved in payment processing, regardless of their size or transaction volume (PCI Security Standards Council).
If you're mapping out your first automations, our small business automation roadmap can help you decide what to set up first.
Frequently Asked Questions About GoHighLevel
Is GoHighLevel worth it for a small business?
It can be, if you use several of its parts together, like forms, texting, booking and follow-up, but if you only need one tool, a cheaper single-purpose app may serve you better.
How much does GoHighLevel cost per month?
Plans cost $97, $297 or $497 a month, or $970, $2,970 or $4,970 a year (HighLevel pricing). Usage fees for texts, calls, emails and some AI come on top.
Does GoHighLevel have a free trial?
Yes, the official pricing page offers a 14-day free trial on any of the three main plans (HighLevel pricing). HighLevel's bootcamp page offers a 30-day free trial with live training (HighLevel bootcamp page).
Will I be charged after the GoHighLevel free trial?
Yes, unless you cancel before it ends, because billing begins automatically at the end of the trial (HighLevel pricing).
Does GoHighLevel have a long-term contract?
No, it's month to month, and you can cancel from your dashboard at any time (HighLevel pricing).
Are there hidden fees with GoHighLevel?
They aren't hidden, since HighLevel lists them openly, but they're easy to miss when you only look at the plan price. Phone numbers, texts, calls, emails and premium AI are billed by usage (HighLevel pricing).
What's the difference between the Starter and Unlimited plans?
The main difference is the number of sub-accounts, since Starter includes 3 while Unlimited includes as many as you need (HighLevel pricing).
Do I need to be tech-savvy to use GoHighLevel?
HighLevel says you don't, and it points to its support team and its library of ready-made snapshots (HighLevel pricing). Independent reviewers still say to expect a learning curve of a few weeks (AutoGen CRM).
Is GoHighLevel only for agencies?
No, it isn't, and the Starter plan is described as "Perfect for smaller businesses and solo marketers" (HighLevel pricing). Even so, most of its plans and extra features are clearly shaped around the needs of agencies.
Can GoHighLevel replace my other tools?
Often, yes, because HighLevel says most users replace their CRM, funnel builder, email marketing, scheduler, text marketing and review tools (HighLevel pricing). Check that it covers each job well before you cancel anything.
Does GoHighLevel include AI?
Yes, some AI assistants are free to use, others are billed pay-per-use, and AI Employee plans cost $50 or $97 a month per sub-account (HighLevel pricing guide).
Can I use my own domain and brand?
Yes, you can connect your own domains for funnels and websites, and you can white-label the desktop web app with your own logo (HighLevel pricing).
Final Verdict
GoHighLevel is not a small tool that does one job, it's a full toolbox for winning and keeping customers.
For agencies, it's one of the strongest options around, thanks to unlimited sub-accounts, rebilling and white labeling.
For local service businesses, it can close the gap between a new lead and a booked job, which is where many businesses lose money.
For online stores or email-only senders, a more focused tool will likely fit better and cost less.
Some tools build websites for you.
Some tools send your emails and newsletters.
Some tools book appointments and send reminders.
GoHighLevel tries to do all of it, and for the right business, that's exactly the point.
Just go in with clear eyes: budget for usage fees, give yourself a few weeks to learn it, and build one complete workflow before you try to build ten.
If that sounds like you, the free trial is the safest and cheapest way to find out whether it fits your business.
Try GoHighLevel free, or get the 30-day trial with the free bootcamp.
